is a town that was promoted to eup within the Daejeon Metropolitan
City in the 1940's. The area is thought of as the city that had
the highest trade volume of grain in the Honam region during Japanese
colonial rule. Sintaein Market began in the 1910's as a one-in-five-days
opening market. Its modernization was completed in November 1993.
